Few important consequences of this principle are:
Voluntary slavery is not allowed. A free person cannot become a slave even if he wants to.
A free person cannot be enslaved. The interesting point is that Muslim theologians did not decide it, but the Prophet of Islam, Muhammad, may the mercy and blessings of God be upon him, declared it to be a sin 1400 years ago. He said, "There are three types of people against whom I shall myself be a plaintiff on the Day of Judgement. Of these three, one is he who enslaves a free man, then sells him, and consumes this money."

who brought truth from his Lord. A "messenger" of God, in Islamic doctrine, is
more than a prophet. A prophet is essentially someone who foretells the future.
A "messenger" is a moral teacher appointed by God to carry the divine message
to others based on revelation he receives. The reception of 'message' from God
is termed 'revelation.' Islamic tradition views all 'messengers' as prophets,
but all prophets are not considered 'messengers.' Abraham, Moses, Jesus, and
Muhammad, may God praise them, are viewed as messengers.

slavery is discussed in the Bible. The Jewish law has much to say about slaves
and their treatment. This matter is not open to debate. It is a fact every
rabbi and a trained pastor is aware of. Second, just as the Jews and Christians do not discuss
slavery in their teachings and sermons, Muslims do not teach much on the
subject. Why? The simple reason is that slavery as it existed in ancient times
does not exist anymore. To talk of "slavery in Islam" as if the Muslims
practice it today is dishonesty.

NEW ARTICLE: Philosophical Reflections (part 2 of 5)

This series of articles provide a conceptual framework for answering the 'big questions' related to our existence. Part 2 urges us to reflect on what actually is success and whether our existence has a purpose.

Description: This series of articles provide a conceptual framework for answering the 'big questions' related to our existence. Part 2 urges us to reflect on what actually is success and whether our existence has a purpose.
Excerpt: One of the best
definitions I have found of success is "the completion of what is intended". For
example, if I were to intend to learn how to drive, and I passed my driving
test, that would be a success. As human beings we intend to achieve things all
the time; to get a promotion; to be our own boss; to be a good father and
husband; to travel the world or to write a book.

NEW VIDEO: God: Delusion or Truth-Was Dawkins Right?

In this video, Hamza Tzortzis and Rick Lewis debate to prove the existence of God

Description: In this video, Hamza Tzortzis and Rick Lewis debate to prove the existence of God

NEW VIDEO: Esa Sorial, Former Roman Catholic, Philipines

In this video, Esa shares his story of how he came to Islam

Description: In this video, Esa shares his story of how he came to Islam

FEATURED ARTICLE: The Story of Moses (part 1 of 12): Who is Moses?

The scene is set, and the child is born.

Description: The scene is set, and the child is born.
Excerpt: In both Judaism and Christianity Moses is a central

in the Quran. He is the nephew of Abraham, the son of Abraham's brother. Lot
lived towards the southern tip of the Dead Sea. His people were from Sodom and Gomorrah.
Lot believed in Abraham and after their return from Egypt, they settled in
separate locations. People of Sodom were the first to commit homosexuality.
That is why homosexuals are sometimes called sodomites. His wife was not a
believer. She did not commit the sin, but accepted it. Rocks were rained down
on the people of Sodom and Gomorrah that crushed them.

NEW VIDEO: The Quran's Rational Arguments

In this video, Dr. Jafar Idrees discusses the relationship between faith and reason

Description: In this video, Dr. Jafar Idrees discusses the relationship between faith and reason

NEW VIDEO: Dear Human - Your Religion

In this video, the human (you) are asked to contemplate on his religion regarding the questions in this video

Description: In this video, the human (you) are asked to contemplate on his religion regarding the questions in this video

FEATURED ARTICLE: Judaism (part 1 of 4): An Introduction

What is Judaism and who are the Jews?

Description: What is Judaism and who are the Jews?
Excerpt: The

most of whom are mentioned in the Bible as well. Who were these prophets, where
did they live, who were they sent to, what are their names in the Quran and the
Bible, and what are some of the miracles they performed? We will answer these
simple questions. Before we begin, we must understand two matters: a. In Arabic two different words are used, Nabi and Rasool.

evidence for God's oneness is by referring to revelation. The argument here is
that if God has announced himself to humanity and this revelation can be proven
to be from Him, then what He mentions about himself is obviously true. The
daring assumptions, from an agnostic perspective at least, are how do you know
God has announced himself to mankind and in what form is this revelation?

NEW VIDEO: Islam & the 21st Century

In this video, Dr. Zakir Naik explains everything about Islam at the Oxford Union

Description: In this video, Dr. Zakir Naik explains everything about Islam at the Oxford Union

NEW VIDEO: Isa Islam, Former Hindu, USA

In this video, Isa Islam shares his story of how he came to Islam

Description: In this video, Isa Islam shares his story of how he came to Islam

FEATURED ARTICLE: Is Jesus God or sent by God? loved and revered by billions of people the world over. Yet there is so much
confusion surrounding the status of this colossal personality. Muslims and
Christians both hold Jesus in high regard but view him in very different ways. The questions raised in this article aim to get to the
heart of the issues surrounding Jesus: Is Jesus God? Or was he sent by God? Who
was the real historical Jesus?
